Get mad! The Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors is giving taxpayer money to one of the highest tuition, big-bucks, private universities in the land. The Catholics are rich and the University reeks with money. Have you seen the tuition they rake in? And you, my fellow taxpayer, are paying money for Santa Clara University's Community Law Center.

I'm sorry, but the county needs money for what? For health care and valley transportation say the Measure A proponents... So tell me again, why is Santa Clara University getting money for their Community Law Center? Does it fall under the health care or valley transportation that we need so critically per Measure A?

Let Santa Clara University support their own community law center! See why you can't trust the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors. The board's first mistake was funding this community center. Their second mistake was paying year after year for this community law center. And the board's 3rd strike was not killing the funding. Hey baby, three strikes and you are out! Throw the board out onto the street. They aren't doing us any favors!

The funding list goes on for 6 pages. Looks like 150-200 organizations on the public dole. The county is hurting for money, yet very few of this organizations faced reductions.

The Board of Supervisors is afraid to cut funds to these organizations. The Board of Supervisors supports these organizations because they are proud of their community "safety net" that benefits the few. But the Board of Supervisors faces titantic deficits that will sink us all.

If the board lacks the courage to cut spending, you will see "wave-upon-wave" of tax increases. Many they can impose without asking your permission, such as park entrance fees and adoption fees. You could probably come up with your own list quite easily. If you want anything from the county, you have to pay, right? They could just jack fees up to the roof, and what are you going to do about it?

The decisions of the Board of Supervisors affect every resident and taxpayer. By not making tough decisions and reducing expenses in all areas, the entire population of Santa Clara County suffers.

Why should taxpayer dollars go to the Community Law Center at Santa Clara University, especially if the county is facing "wave-upon-wave of deficits," per the Board of Supervisor's own County Executive?

Santa Clara University should be paying for the entire cost of the Community Law Center as a token of their committment to the community and to the poor.

Santa Clara University has a fine law school; why should the taxpayer pay for the Community Law Center when thousands of future wealthy lawyer wanna-be's are so close by to help? For funds, why aren't the wealthy lawyer alumni paying for the Community Law Center? Just asking...

Money is tight.  The Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors is NOT smart in paying money to Santa Clara University. The board should immediately stop funding the Community Law Center at Santa Clara University. Is Santa Clara University so cheap they can't pick up a paltry $ 40,866?

Come on, guys. The Catholics don't need your money. The Catholics know how to bring in the money. If you fall in arrears paying your tuition at a Catholic High School, you could be in tears after they threaten your son or daughter with not graduating. Nice folks, heh?

You have heard the board. We don't have enough for healthcare and transportation, yet the board has money to fund a Community Law Center at Santa Clara University. Tell the board of supervisors to wake up. It's your money they're pissing away!

Why doesn't the Catholic president of Santa Clara University excuse himself from the Yes on A endorsement list? Doesn't he have a conflict of interest?

The president of Santa Clara University says Yes on A is good.

Why?

Could it be that the Catholic charities are being given hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars by your board of supervisors?

Is the Catholic church telling the recipients of the aid that the money comes from Santa Clara County taxpayer?

Where is separation of church and state?

Or if that doesn't bother you, how come the Catholic charities get so much of the pie? A couple of other churches get some token amounts, but the lion's share goes to the Catholics.

Where is the concern by the other religions? Why aren't the American Muslims getting their fair share? Where is the funding for the Jewish organizations? How about Buddhists? Why such a disparity between the Catholic charities and the Methodists, Baptists, and Presbyterians?

Where is the concern for agnostics, and atheists? They pay taxes.

The Catholic Church is wealthy. Why does the Catholic church drain the coffers of the county? Why is their hand in the till?

Have you seen the tuition Catholic schools charge? They have tons of money. The Catholic church should take care of the needy with their own money, not the money from taxpayers.

Is the social welfare system built into the county incompetent? Why does the county give away so much money? Is it because they can't manage it themselves?

Now to Measure A. Ask yourself, isn't asking for more money an acknowledgment of failure by the Board of Supervisors? They need more money because everything that comes in is spent. And you want to give them more?

Vote NO on Measure A
