4 Days to Go
"The Nest is Full of Cuckoos"
1/2 cent sales tax increase - Santa Clara County Measure A - 4 days to go
Today's point is simple: “The Cuckoo’s Nest is Full."
If your spouse is out spending money and you don’t have enough money
to cover your existing bills, would you say your spouse is being foolish?
If your county is out spending money and they don’t have enough money
to cover their existing bills, would you say the county is being foolish?
A cuckoo is a "crazy or foolish person."
We must have a full nest of cuckoos. The Board of Supervisors continues
to spend like an “out-of-control” spouse, drunken sailor, or a crazed
consumer with a new credit card.
=========================
"It's Not My Fault"
The county says it’s not their fault they can’t meet their obligations.
The Board of Supervisors passes the buck and blames the state and
federal government for not giving them enough money.
You have to give credit to the state and federal government; they are
at least cutting their expenses, that is, the “wave upon wave” of money
being thrown at the counties is being cut back.
The Board of Supervisors is hoping, wishing, and gambling that the
economy will continue to improve. The county is hoping for funds
to increase from the state and federal government. A prudent person
would make plans assuming the funds are not coming.
Hey, Board of Supervisors, as far as expecting funds from the state,
read this. California has a “dismal credit rating,” and is “tied with
Louisiana” for the lowest credit rating in the United States. And you
are expecting the state to bail you out?(source: Examiner, May 12, 2006)
Isn’t it time for the Board of Supervisors to wake up and take full
responsibility for the financial crisis and work around it?
HEY, BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, STOP SPENDING MONEY
YOU DON’T HAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Measure A is a Wake-Up Call"
Measure A is a wake-up call to the citizens of Santa Clara County.
We need to vote fiscally conservative candidates into the Board
of Supervisors. We need people that can control their spending.
Look at your June 6 ballot and vote for a supervisor that isn't going
to bankrupt Santa Clara County.
We worry about federal and state politicians, yet our loco politicians
are picking our pockets.
We do not need a nest of cuckoos!
It’s time that we recall some of the members that sit on the Board
of Supervisors before they bankrupt the county. Let’s fire them if they
aren't able to do the job. Supervisor Beall should be the first to go.
=========================
"Increased Property Tax Revenues"
The Board of Supervisors has to live within their means. Property tax
revenue increased $120 million between FY 2005 and FY 2007
and it was consumed as fast as it was earned.
Do you believe the county should, like a family, live within their
means?
Then send a strong message to the Santa Clara Board of Supervisors.
Vote NO on Measure A

P.S. Come back tomorrow. "Let’s look at the charities that the Board
of Supervisors is afraid to alienate.”
